This Just In...Too Faced

This just Too Faced package finally arrived in the mail! Free shipping is great
but boy does it take awhile. I had a 20% off code so I couldn't resist shopping, which is what I'm sure they bank on when they send it to your email. If you're wanting to do some Too Faced shopping sign up for their emails on and they'll send you a welcome discount code.

First up Tinted Beauty Balm. Now the cosmetic industry doesn't have rules on what you
are or aren't aloud to call products in marketing, Beauty Balm has kind of become a new trend as of about spring 2011 and quite often it's just a tinted moisturizer with a trendy new name. Now BB Cream can stand for Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm or...well anything the makeup companies want it to stand for. It's origins started in Germany when a dermatologist wanted a cream for people after laser treatment to protect skin whilst providing coverage. This idea caught on in South Korea and soon spread through out Asia. The general idea behind BB Cream is it replaces your moisturizer, skin treatment, primer, anti-aging product, sunblock and foundation. Now, do I believe it does all that? Ehhh, no. (Though the Asian market has BB Creams that are closer to their claims.) I have however been using this BB for a while now and have re-purchased it because I am more fair now then I was in the summer. I've gone from Vanilla Glow to Snow Glow. Too Face does put a lot of thought into the skin care within their makeup as Jerrod, Co-fouder/Creative Director's sister was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma and is a survivor. You will notice many of the products have an SPF and they are famous for their bronzers, hoping women and men will tan the safe way, with a powder brush. Also they put effective ingredients in their products for instants there is Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc as well as Ginseng and Ginko Biloba to be anti aging, A & E vitamins, as well as Chamomile to soothe and nourish, along with an oil free hydrating formula and SPF 20 for sun protection which also can be anti aging as you avoid sun damage. I like to use this as my primer under foundation if I'm wanting full coverage as I normally like medium coverage foundations for day to day. It also is perfect for under powder foundations or it is nice enough alone if you are going for a "my skin but better" look. I  found that this does have a different consistency than other BBs that I've tested out, slightly thicker, better as a primer and more pigmentation, along with a nice glow. I would recommend this and will surely buy this a third time.

Next up Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush. This is a blusher I have been wanting to
get my hands on for a while now, but it always seemed to be one of those things that I said "Oh, I'll just get it next time." whenever I'd be shopping. Next time turned into an endless string of next times and I ended up forgetting all about it until I was trying a color swatch to find my new shade of BB Cream and it's trio-color shimmer caught my procrastinating eye. I knew I was making this purchase on the company website so I wrote it down next to my color match. I think its arrival is perfect timing as my other two blushers are looking a bit intense on my paleness. This trio of shades match all skin tones and illuminate the skin giving a romantic glow. The colors can be used alone or blended together and claim to be the LBD of blush (which I may just agree with.) I like to mix up my blush color or I find it becomes a bit like a perfume that you wear often, you don't notice it much anymore so why not add an extra bit, the end result is me looking a touch clownish. I happily welcome this to my blush collection and am satisfied with money well spent.

When you place an order with Too Faced you get to choose from an assortment
of samples to be delivered with your purchase (Another clever way to get me to shop, I see you Too Faced, not that I'm complaining.). I selected LashGasm and Lip Insurance. I almost bought the Lip Insurance because I love their Shadow Insurance: Glitter Glue, but I am sorry to say I'm glad I didn't . I was so excited to try this and I put it on and all seemed well, then it dried (dondondon!!!) and creased my lipstick then puckered my lips. The horror!! I took this off my lips sitting in a Target parking lot because I just couldn't.

LashGasm...quite a name and ironically anticlimactic. I have talked or rather raved about Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and I stand behind that and must say, "Spend your money on that!!", because this simply is not worth the money. The little rubber brush was ineffective and the formula didn't even seem to be on the applicator, I don't know if it is because its sample size or what, though I've never seen that before. I applied this and you could barely even notice. Hello, with a name like LashGasm I want to be wowed.

So that's all for my mini Too Faced haul. <---Little Dr. Seuss moment happening with the rhyming!
Glad I spent the money on things I love and that I got to sample things I ended up not liking. I will continue to shop with Too Faced as I love many more products than I dislike and frankly, what relationship is without its flaws? Hope you enjoyed my little review and if you did please share it with your friends and fellow makeup lovers. If you have had different experiences with the products I've listed let me know about them in the comments. I now have an Instgram along with my twitter so follow those if you'd like, it'd make my day.

xoxo, Amanda
