My Beauty Favorites from 2013

It is now 2014 and can I just say...this past year has been nothing but surprises from job
changes, to finding myself not missing things or people I thought I would, to finding some peace with myself that I hadn't had before. Yes there were many ups and downs of course but I think this year has been a year of growing pains and forgiveness for me. I know this is a beauty blog but I think personal growth is more important than any foundation because if you are being held back or made to be unhappy or insecure no amount of lipstick will conceal a frown and you can't put on enough highlighter to make you hold your head up high. So my first beauty favorite is personal development, because inner beauty is
 what makes you the prettiest.

From Left to Right
My Favorite Red Lip: Kat Von D: Hellbent ($19) (Rich, long-lasting, color true and no fragrance.)
My Favorite Pink: is a tie between Urban Decay: Catfight ($22) (Great color pay-off, a buttery, hydrating texture and no fragrance.) and M.A.C: Chatterbox ($15) (Lovely soft pink that doesn't wash me out and has a nice shine. Sweet smelling , like vanilla frosting)
My Favorite Nude: Kat Von D: Lovecraft ($19) (All that Hellbent has to offer in a perfect "My lips but better" shade.)
My Favorite Palette: Urban Decay Naked 3 ($52)...This rose hued palette was not a let down for me. To be honest it has somewhat made my other new palettes irrelevant for the time being. Each morning I want to play with this baby and see what other looks I can do from it.

This palette is so versatile, everything from a natural, no-makeup makeup, to a sultry, smokey eye, to a glam glitzy look. Also I think Naked 3 is great even if you're young and just beginning or if you are just topping off your collection. The colors are very blendable and soft on the eyes.
My Favorite Mask: Lush Cosmetics: Mask of Magnaminty ($12.95-24.95) is without a doubt my favorite mask I've used this year. I reach for it if my skin feels a bit congested or if I have a spot. This detoxing mask has ingredients such as Kaolin, Honey, Evening Prim Rose Seeds, Peppermint and more all combined to stimulate circulation, prevent blemishes, sooth skin and even tighten with Bentonite Gel. I give this mighty, minty, mask a big thumbs up.
My Favorite Moisturizer: Tarte: Maracuja Oil ($46) is my new favorite way to hydrate. Marcuja Oil comes from a fruit found in the Amazon known as "puro milagro" or "the pure miracle. According to Tarte this fruit is harvested only once a year by Amazonian women who are affiliated with the Tarte cooperative. All of these beautiful fruits are sustainably picked and the seeded-pulp is extracted by hand and then cold pressed by hand as well. It is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin C and nutrients. This oil has been used in Brazil for generations to be anti-aging, brightening, rebuilding, plumping and soothing for the skin and doesn't cause breakouts. This oil can also reduce redness. (sample size shown) *I came back and corrected some incorrect information I got on where the oil comes from. I originally thought it came from I flower.*
My Favorite Foundation: Smashbox Liquid Halo ($42.) click to read my full thoughts here.
Favorite Blusher: I have...another tie. I have been all about the glow this year so Too Faced: Sweet Hearts: Perfect Flush Blush ($29.) has to be here. More details here.
I also had to mention my undying love for Nars: Sin ($29.) This berry with a golden shimmer blush can look mighty scary in the pan almost too dark and dead to make anyone look healthy which is the point to blush anyway. But whoa-baby! this one is gorgeous, leaving a deep berry glow that adds to any contour. Can you say cheek bones for days!?
My Favorite Bronzer: Too Faced: Snow Bunny ($30.) is perfect for fair complexions. Sometimes fair skin can look a bit overdone if too bronzed and shimmery and needless to say unnatural if the rest of you isn't tan as well. Just be sure to blend this down the neck a bit and you will know the Snow Bunny glow of health. (perfect for all seasons)
My Favorite Contour: Benefit: Hoola Bronzer ($28.) still continues to be my favorite contour shade year after year. On my skin this would look a touch too deep of a shade for all over the face but this matte bronzer makes the perfect shade for sharpening my bone structure and creating dimension. Just be sure to blend, blend, blend! I've hit pan, now that's love.
My Favorite BrushesReal Techniques brushes have been the number one thing I have told all my friends they need to invest in. These soft, synthetic brushes are wildly affordable and created by Samantha Chapman of Pixiwoo. They clean beautifully and feel like magic on the skin. I haven't listed any specifically because they are all aces.
My Favorite Primers: Both from Too Faced: Primed &Poreless Pure($30.) This face primer instantly makes skin look and feel closer to perfection, leaving skin prepped and ready for foundation. Shadow Insurance: Glitter Glue($20.) is my absolute favorite when it comes to keeping ultra shimmery shades (prone to fall out) or loose glitter on the lids without budging. I tend to prime only where I want the glitter with this primer and everywhere else with another one. You can even pat this on top of a finished eye shadow look to top with glitter.
My Favorite Mascara: Too Faced: Better Than Sex ($23.) mascara is hands down my favorite mascara this year. First off the packaging is pretty, feels expensive, looks gorgeous (a nice deep black) on and doesn't dry out too quickly. Your lashes will reach for the sky and be super full. Fun fact: the brush shape was inspired by thee Marilyn Monroe.
My Favorite Concealer: Benefit: Erase Paste ($26.) I use it on myself, I used it on my friend for her wedding (more info on that here.) I use it on everyone. This brightening concealer in ideal for under the eyes and stays well when set with powder. A great product that I am almost needing to re-purchase soon.
My Favorite Gloss: Boxom: Full On Lip Polish in Sugar. ($19.) Now I'm not much of a gloss girl any more but when I am going for a super glow all over, dewy look I quite enjoy Boxom. This lip plumping gloss has a beige/rose tone, think Victoria's Secret model. Not too sticky and it doesn't dry out my lips. Yay! (sample size shown.)
My Favorite Eye-Liner: Rimmel: Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal eye pencils.($3.99-$4.99) These are like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On eye pencils but a fraction of the cost. I tend to have a very hard time keeping pencil on my water line and these guys have beaten all the rest. Shown in Brown and Nude.
My Favorite Lip Pencil: Urban Decay: 24/7 Glide-On pencil in OZone.($19.) This clear lip pencil is the best thing ever. You simple draw an invisible line all around the outer rim of your lips and you lip color stays where you put it without having to buy a different color for every lipstick. Brilliant!
My favorite Website/ this great website basically gets together all of your favorite blogs from all of your favorite bloggers from all of the blogging sights and has them in one place, on one news feed with the ease of subscribing like youtube and the set up of facebook. You can subscribe to this blog there too! (Don't forget to get the app!)
My Favorite BloggerVivianna Does Makeup is my favorite blog this year. I love her style and her taste in makeup. She has inspired me to try more natural-makeup days and has a bit of a luxury/high-end makeup love as I do. Basically I'd love to play with makeup with her for a day. She also has a Youtube channel of the same name that I indulge in as well. I can't wait to keep reading and I am always checking Bloglovin for her posts.

So those are all my favorite things that I used, tryed and read in 2013. Now I am on to a new year full of new experiences, new opportunities, new memories to be made and of course new makeup to try. Thank you so much if you have joined me on my new adventure in blogging in 2013 and please join me for 2014 by subscribing to my blog and following my twitter and instagram.
