It was time yet again to paint my nails and I was super excited because I had a new polish to try.
The color is a vibrant blue is called "Pool Party" by Ciate'. I had my eye on this $15. polish at Sephora for a while, hesitating to spend that much on a polish, wondering if it was all about the adorable packaging that I am obsessed with. I can happily say it's not just the packaging!
This gorgeous polish went on as beautifully as it's packaging. It simply glides across the nail and drys quite quickly. I am so happy I took the plunge into Pool Party! This is a very versatile color as I think it's nice for all the seasons. I used three coats of polish, though I think two would've done just fine, I wanted to see how three coats stacked up. Did it get gooey? Did it get air bubbles? Did it get streaky? No, no and no! Non of that nonsense that too often I find to be true, even with companies such as O.P.I.
I started with two coats of Formula X for Sephora Base Coat. This is the only base coat I've ever liked and it goes for a not too bad $10.50.
Then I used three coats of Pool Party. The finish reminds me a bit of a gel polish.
I then used two coats of the Orly Top Coat $8.50 to lock in the color. This is my favorite top coat right now and extends the life of my polish substantially.
I also wanted to share this quote.
"Life is too short to spend hoping that the perfectly arched eyebrow or hottest new lip shade will mask an ugly heart." -Kevyn Aucoin Makeup Artist
This is so true, no amount of makeup (or nail polish) can hide an ugly heart. So be confident in who you are and before you check your lipstick remember to check your heart. Be kind and let your makeup be a true portrayal of how beautiful you are inside, not a distraction from something unpleasant.
I hope this quick post has been a fun read and that you have found it helpful.
