Preparing for a Party: Valentine's Day Pt. 2

Yesterday I spoke about the preparation for a party. Setting up and all that jazz. If you
missed that click here to catch up. Today was the big day. It was actually a work meeting, but me being me, I turned it into a party and it had to look as perfect as possible. At least I'm self aware of my need for perfectionism, right? haha I know that perfectionism isn't good in all aspects of life (I'm working on it) but in party decor it works for me.

I started my pre-meeting game this morning with some makeup. Yay!
Let's talk about that, shall we?
Here is all that was applied to my face and the tools I used.
I used my Marc Jacobs foundation. More on this here.
I also used my Benefit Hoola Bronzer to contour and Nars Sin on my cheeks. Both are mentioned in my 2013 Favorites. UD: All Nighter Setting Spray was a must since I did my face up in the morning. (While watching We Are Marshall.)
I used Nars Copacabana Illuminator on the high points of my face to highlight because I am addicted to this stuff. I used the Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre on top of my eye shadow (we'll talk about that in a moment) and the Stila Stay All Day Water Proof Liquid Liner. Phew! Got winded just thinking about how long that name is.
I filled in my brows with Anastasia of Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Ebony. I used Rimmel Scandal-Eyes liner on my water line in Nude. As my primer I used Maybelline Color Tattoo in 55 Inked in Pink.
I used X-Rated on my lid and Poison from the Urban Decay Vice2 Palette.
I used Urban Decay Zephyr as my inner corner highlight. (I spoke about this in my last Face of the Day here.) Benefit Erase Paste in 1 and Too Face Better Than Sex mascara.
To finish it off I used my favorite illuminating bronzer, Too Faced Snow Bunny. The perfect bronzer for the fair skinned bunnies out there and works as a nice highlight for the warmer skin toned babes.
Lastly...Catfight from Urban Decay. This is probably my favorite lipstick I've perchased in the
last year. I use it all the time and never get sick of this gorgeous fuchsia pink with a blue undertone.
(Blue undertones make teeth appear whiter)

Now that the whole putting myself together business has been taken care of...
what did I dish up? Yummy, Parisian goodies! (Not homemade...I am not on this level...yet.)

So here you can see what I was talking about yesterday, by creating different visual levels
the eye stays engaged. I placed Chocolate Mint Cookie candles on the table so as guests entered the smell of thin mint cookies was in the air. For me, when I'm serving food, I want the candle burning to smell eatable not like clean linen or ocean breeze.
Here I am after I finished my makeup, ready for my coworkers to arrive so we could delve
into work topics as well as pizza and desserts.
Here are the lovely ladies gathered around the table. We got lots sorted out and had a lovely time together.
It is quite a beautiful thing when you work with people who you enjoy spending time with.
Cheers!Thank you for taking the time to read this! I hope it has filled you're mind with
how your next gathering will be. Be sure to keep and eye out for my next post. It will be completely beauty focused and will feature a very special guest and a little palette you may know that goes
 by the name Naked 3.
xoxo, Amanda
