This week has been filled with business for me and life is like that sometimes you just
have to roll with it. I'm not sure if I've spoken about this before but I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Sometimes I feel really well and the anxiety is completely at ease, other times it overwhelms me. Sometimes I just feel nervous or tense, other times the anxiety leads to panic attacks. It just depends on the day and how much is on my plate and what is going on around me. Sometimes it can be set off by a sound that builds anxiety in me, sometimes it could just hit me from being run down and not getting enough sleep.
This week I had a hard time sleeping because of my anxiety and that forced me to rest more than I would have liked, so instead I lessened my portions of food and tried to do things, listen to things and watch things that are uplifting to me. I ended up finding that using the app Relax Melodies to calm myself so I could fall asleep was helpful. It's pretty cool because it plays relaxing sounds like rain, waves, camping sounds, city sounds...etc to calm you. Also you can set a timer so it fades out after a certain time period. I have realized that with this disorder there are different ways that I have to take care of my body. I have found that just listening to fun music can be a good way to bop around and not feel too worn down. So here's to handling what's on your plate the best way you know how and hoping for a better tomorrow!
