If you read my Fitness Friday posts you may or may not have noticed I didn't have one
last week. A better way to describe week 7 would have been Sickness Friday; I had both an ear infection and a sinus infection. Needless to say that put a damper and a half on my fitness plans. No workouts and to be honest at the beginning not a lot of healthy eating, I mean, when sick who really feels like a fresh salad or a piece of grilled fish? Towards the end of the week I remembered an old friend; My Fitness Pal is a website and app that helps you stay on track and set goals for yourself based on where you're at. It is super easy to use and has gotten even more comprehensive. It helps you track how much water you're drinking, working out, food and weight, it even has a bar code scanner and huge data-base of foods. Of course check with your doctor before changing your calorie intake or exercise plan. But it's a great, free app to download.
I have continued to use My Fitness Pal and will for the foreseeable future. Thursday was my first day pack on the treadmill and I ran 1.5 miles and it was amazing to get back at it. My anxiety disorder was a bit on edge over the last couple weeks and the workout did wonders for that pent up energy. My goal for the month of October is to run 1.5 miles three times a week.
