If you've followed my blog for a while you probably know that I am a Tarte Cosmetics lover,
so you can imagine when I walked into a brand new Sephora on opening day, all the testers were new, untouched and un-smudged and I saw this perfect little holiday number sitting on the shelf I had to swatch it. It was true love! It was also great because I was just telling my mom that I needed some more blush to add to my freelance kit. Well, Tarte must have heard me, because I have found my newest kit addition and the Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush Palette (Give me a moment...I'm out of breath from that name.) was $42 according to the packaging that is a $110 value. Tarte's single 12-hour blushes are $26 for 0.2oz, this palette has 5 x 0.15oz of product.
The palette has a gold leaf vintage and filigree look to it. It is in the style of a wallet or small clutch and comes with two decorative bobby-pins, (Pin Up Palette...get it!) one with pearls and ones with clear rhinestones; this really fits with the feeling that Tarte is going for this Holiday Season. They say that it should feel Feminine, whimsical and in line with timeless beauty. The holiday collection is called #TarteSweetDreams and it is all about being lovely, lady-like and dreamy; inspired by Parisian lifestyle and everything listed above has lead to a lot of pastels, golds and pearls. Tarte calls it understated elegance.
You can feel the theme of timeless beauty running through this collection right down to the five brand new blushes. They all emote the feeling of an old black and white movie star and the women of that time: classy, elegant, feminine and irresistible.
The blushes are true to Tarte form being highly pigmented, smooth in texture, using high performance naturals, as Tarte calls them, and being cruelty free while lasting a really long time on the cheeks! This would be a great gift for the makeup lover or maybe even a makeup newbie, since when first getting into this beauty world you don't have a ton of options in your makeup bag. The stand out shades to me are Irreplacable, Whimsy and Bashful.
I hope you liked this post and that it either helped you with your holiday shopping list
or maybe even your wish list. ;) What do you think about this palette and are there any other Tarte holiday items you think I should pick up? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading.
