January Favorites 2015

Here we are again. How are we already in the second month of the year? Oh, well. I'm not sad,
because this is my birthday month! Twenty four is coming about much sooner than I expected, I must admit. But with that being said there have been some things I've been loving this past month and I'd love to tell you all about them.

BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette This came as a bit of a surprise to me. I normally love the luxurious side of makeup and am a sucker for cute, sleek or fancy packaging and this has none of that. I've had this for a long while and really only picked it up because A: I needed a palette that was really just for practicing FX makeup with and B: It was the right price for my purpose for it. This palette is $11.95. In my mind, with that price, it would be good for only things that didn't need perfect blending. Things like bruises and wounds. But then I needed a yellow and there it was. Not all the shades are winners but the ones that are are great. Keep an eye for a really fun Valentines look coming out using only these shadows!

E.L.F Cosmetics Studio Angled Eyeliner Brush Another ultra affordable product. Selling for $3.00. I bought this on a Target whim with my friend Jacquie (yes, again). I have been on the hunt for a perfect eyeliner brush and haven't fallen head over heals for any. I know, a lot to ask of a brush, but still. I half jokingly said "Watch, this one I'll love." Weeeeelllll. I did. I was shocked because I have never been pleased with an Elf purchase...until now. It's so good I went back and got five more.

Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder (Sample size shown.) I got this in a set a long time ago and yes, I have used it, but not all that much. But after seeing this Nikkie Tutorials video on setting under eye makeup I use it everyday. I have this problem now and I used the technique shown and it worked wonders. I already had this powder and it works just as well, for me,  as the one she mentioned.

Nars Lipstick in Roman Holiday I have already spoken about this once in a January post, here.I had to give this another shout out though. I used this lipstick almost every day. I may have started out with a full on lip color but by the second half of my day, after my lunch break it was time for some Roman Holiday. It is the only sheer lip color I've ever had that is truly hydrating.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation SPF 15 in Light Neutral Oh my, the longest name known to man!! But my skin has been very well behaved up until this past month where it seemed to have some issues it needed to get out. I was doing everything right and it turned on me. But what helped was this foundation. I mean, it does sit on the skin all day long, it has to have an effect on the skin. The clay/minerals just seemed to settle everything down and still let my skin breathe.

Real Techniques Bold Metals 100 Arched Powder Brush The new range of pro brushes from our favorite YouTubers over at Pixiwoo are beautiful. I was able to get my hands on a few and am planning an order for more. This one stood out though because of the shape and texture. Soft, but not big and fluffy like typical powder brushes this one gently lays powder on the skin without moving around what's underneath.

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Velvet Underground Probably my ideal shade of pink, this fuchsia is everything and this packaging...there are no words. Well, there are some, this is a blog. The rose gold metal bullet is luxury defined. The formula is divine and has trumped my former holy grail of the old formula for the Kat Von D lipsticks. Yes, Yes and Yes!

Milani Cosmetics Baked Blush in 05 Luminoso another Nikkie Tutorials video find, this time not the technique but the product. This blush looks so glowy and peachy. Normally I looked washed out in peach as it brings out all of the olive undertones in my skin from the Spanish side of my gene pool. This one though, has enough golden hues to it that it works for me and every person I've tried it on. For under $9 dollars, it's a steal.

MAC Mineralized Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle This is so often spoken about I don't want to go on too long. But this is so pretty and glowy. I love highlighters. I can never have too many but if I could only keep one of mine I'd pick this one.

Michael Kors Gold-Tone Bradshaw Watch I got this as a Christmas gift and I just love it so much. I wear it pretty much every day. It just makes me feel special and confident in a way I never knew a watch could. It's funny how things can do that for us sometimes.

So that's what I loved last month. What could you not get enough of? Tell me in the comments!
