Scent of the Season: Jo Malone Review

The name of this post is a bit of a double entendre. In that I mean that it is a new season spring/summer,but it's also a new season of life. Have you ever had a perfume that you smell and it takes you back to a time, a place or an experience? Scent is the strongest link to memory and I think sometimes we forget about that. The last couple of years have been hard for me and I wanted to do a bit of a scent reboot. Between the ending of some friendships and my anxiety/panic disorder getting out of hand I wanted to mark this healthier time in my life with a new scent. I put away the perfumes I was wearing a lot during these painful times and headed to Nordstom to sniff around.

I have heard load about Jo Malone fragrances and had read up and really thought that the cologne Wood Sage & Sea Salt not only sounded like a perfectly calm scent but was also a nice fragrance for the time of year. I wound up loving it and purchased it. (I was a sales persons dream.) I wanted to have a scent that reminded me of this season in my life not the old one. I think things like these effect us more than we think. The people at the counter were great and wrapped the bottle up with care and made the entire experience of shopping with them a delight that made my night.

Escape the everyday along the windswept shore. Waves breaking white, the air fresh with sea salt and spray. Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs. Mingling with the woody earthiness of sage. Lively, spirited and totally joyful.

The site description is great and accurate. The scent is a gentle mixture of a soft wood and a touch of earthiness along with a sweet sea breeze and a bit of powder.

I am now properly obsessed with the Jo Malone Colognes and want another. If you have a favorite or any that you're eyeing up tell me which in the comments. I love hearing your opinions.
