I know, this is a bit of an off color, which is kind of why I like it. I feel like I have a lot of common
shades already and I don't want to keep buying the same shades over and over. Kat Von D has just launched a few new shades adding to her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick range of colors. This one is called Requiem. The word means a Mass for a repose of the souls of the dead or an act or token of rememberance. This explains the color a bit. I don't have a tone of nudes and this shade is a soft lilac. I have never tried a liquid lipstick in a nude tone before.
The formula is the same as the other shades; opaque, matte, long wearing and smudge proof. It is neither hydrating nor overly drying, no more than any other very matte lipstick anyway. My lips are very naturally pigmented and rosy, so for me it's hard to find a nude or lighter shade that covers that natural tone. This does the trick! This shade is a little vampy in a way. It's a little spooky, but I enjoy makeup that breaks a few "rules" and I think Kat Von D does too.
One of the drawbacks to this tone is it can make the teeth look less white and depending on skin tone can wash you out. This is a lipstick that requires some blush to keep you from looking a little dead, unless that's the look you like of course.
What do you think of this color? Would you give it a try? Tell me in the comments! I can't wait to
hear from you. Happy Monday beauty lovers. May your lipstick last all day!
