Just Save January - Shopping Your Collection

As a blogger you acquire a lot of makeup, some given to you by friends, family, brands even, most
purchased by myself. But there is always new makeup, new colors, formulas, brands, palettes, kits coming out and the passion for collecting, trying, and reviewing is real. But every so often you go a little crazy, haul a little heavy and need to cool your spending. Being just on the heals of the holidays I wanted to talk about how fun it can be to shop your collection.

With the amount of makeup I have and the ever growing products I try, I sometimes forget what all it is that I already have. So I did a little digging and here are some of the fun bits I rediscovered.
Urban Decay - Electric Pressed Pigment Palette
This was one of the products I was most excited about. I got it somewhat around the beginning of my blogging journey and it always reminds me of when I over edited my pictures by messing the the resolution too much and fussing with the color saturation. Oh how times have changed. But anyway, going through my collection this stood out to me as a reminder of how I used to play around with color more. I ended up doing a pop of color using this palette and got a lot of compliments. I had forgotten how much fun neon/brights are.

Marc Jacobs - Style Eye Con No. 7 Plush Eyeshadow Palette in The Night Owl
This is a palette I don't reach for as often as I should. It is an amazing palette and you can see my full review here. It's a gorgeous palette and for some reason makes me imagine myself doing something luxurious and purely glamorous in a wonderful city. I'm not really sure why, it's just what the colors say to me. That is one of the things that I don't talk about as much as I should; the packaging to the shades and effects, they can make you feel a different way or imagine yourself differently.

Make Up For Ever - HD Micro Finishing Powder Sample Size
I found this sample that I got a while back and had forgotten to try. I used it to set my under eye concealer and think this may be kicking my Tarte translucent powder out of the top spot. I can't say for sure yet but it feels much lighter and less powdery. Flash test have not yet been done so stay tuned.

Tarte - Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess Sample Size
Another sample, this one I've tried and liked. This is a great shade for light to medium skin tones and I like it for warming up my very fair skin. I had completely forgotten about this product and I'm glad it's in the rotation again.

NYX - Blush in Cinnamon
One of my favorite blushes that has fallen to the back of my collection. This is what I reach for to create a natural flush. I recommend using a duo-fiber brush as to not pick up too much product. I tend to use this blush more in spring/summer, but I have a look in mind...coming soon!

Too Faced - Melted Metal Liquid Lipstick in Melted Tutu
Another shade that reminds me of spring. I was looking at my lipstick collection and I have not reached for this in a long time. This is a warm, flamingo pink, metallic peach shade. It is a really easy to wear and warms your entire face up.

I think it's one of the most fun things to do whether or not you're on a spending budget.
To go through and admire all the gorgeous colors and textures is so lovely. I highly recommend doing this with a friend if you can. It just adds to the enjoyment of going through all the pretty things. What is the last thing you found in your collection that you had forgotten about?
