My birthday was on the 20th of February and my parents know me...well, so they decided to treat
me to a shopping day on them. (What a couple of peaches!) Well I've been dreaming of a couple luxury items over the past few months and I was blessed enough to get some of them.
Everyone in the beauty world knows what a luxury item Tom Ford lipsticks are and there price matches. The shades I got are from the Lips & Boys collection. They are smaller tubes, though not quite mini. They are $35 each, which is $17 cheaper than the full sized tubes.
The Lips & Boys range only come in the small tubes and are 25 best selling shades that have been brought back along side 25 new shades in a metallic finish. I decided to go with some of the pink/neutral shades because I am the queen on bold lips and I'm working on buying things I don't already own in 2-3 different formulas.
First off, one of the things about buying luxury makeup is the beautiful packaging (and of course the lovely formulations)! Tom Ford's lipsticks come in a deep black bullet with metallic gold trim. It's honestly the Mercedes-Benz of lipstick packaging. I could stare at them forever and I feel like pure glamour when using them. I consider the TF branding in the lipstick part of the packaging and I always really enjoy when brands add this touch.
These are smooth and apply beautifully. Interestingly, they cover my lips with fuller coverage than they swatch. The shimmer doesn't feel scratchy on my lips or bring out any creases in them. Because I picked pink/nude shades they make my lips look fuller too.
The Wear Time:
I wouldn't say they are going to last you hours, but they don't look bad at all as they fade. They feel comfortable for a long day. Reapplication is easy and you don't need to remove the original application to reapply the new layer. These won't survive a burger, but part of the the charm of these is the easy going wear.
I'm sure you'll be seeing these in some upcoming makeup looks and I hope you enjoyed this mini
review! I am so excited to have these and I think the shades Jude, Ian & Ansel are perfect for the upcoming spring/summer season. Have you checked out the Lips & Boys range? Which boy catches your eye? Tell me in the comments.
