This is a product I've had my eye on for what has got to be over a year. I love Marc Jacobs Beauty
and knew it looked gorgeous when I had seen it used, but I had other cream highlights and well $42 is not chump change. haha In the end, as it tends to go, I picked up the Glow Stick Glistening Illuminator and that is ALL I picked up.
The packaging looks like the most luxe deodorant you've ever seen, but makes sense for the formula. The pure white with black lettering feels and looks as though it matches the price tag attached. I actually think the packaging is really nice for travel because I feel I'd more likely pop this in my bag for an on the go glow touch up than a traditional highlighter/illuminator.
But what it really all comes down to is how the product preforms on the job and this did not let me down. I like a strong glow but ere on the side of a wet look over a foiled look. I just love it when skin looks healthy and any highlight that adds to that look I love.
I jokingly called this a Patrick Ta (<---Instagram linked if you don't know what I'm talking about, take a look.) highlighter because it gives the skin that look that he is so well known for when doing makeup. It just makes you look like the healthiest, most beautiful version of yourself.
It doesn't feel heavy and even works well on top of set, powdered foundation, though I usually pop it on after I use a setting spray for best results if you use powder. It makes any powder highlight you put on top look even more beautiful. I just have nothing bad to say about this Illuminator.
It has a mixture of pearly gold and silvery pigments that make it work for "all skin tones". It is a sheer formula which also lends to it's universal quality because you're getting a wet look glow rather than a pigmented, colored glow and by using both cool and warm toned metallics it adds flexibility throughout skin tones.
Over all, I really love this highlighter and it has pushed my number-one-go-to-cream-highlight to the side and has become my new love. Expect to see this in most of my tutorials in the near future because it is magical. I'd say this review is more of a rave!
Have you tried this or anything else to die for from Marc Jacobs Beauty that I should try next?
tell me in the comments. What type of highlight look do you go for? I love chatting with you so let me know!
